Who it is for

For adults and children aged 6 years and over when appropriate. Other causes of sickness, including inner-ear conditions or sickness after surgery or cancer treatment, require advice from a healthcare professional. Seek medical advice if symptoms persist or worsen.

How to use

• Read the leaflet supplied and follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s directions. Swallow with water.
• Adults and children over 12: one tablet (50mg), up to three times daily. Children aged 6–12: half a tablet (25mg), up to three times daily. Do not give to children under 6.
• For travel sickness, take the recommended dose 1–2 hours before departure. Do not exceed the advised dose or double a missed dose.

Warnings and precautions

• Do not take if allergic to cyclizine or its ingredients, or after drinking alcohol. Avoid alcohol during treatment.
• Speak to a pharmacist first if you have glaucoma, bowel obstruction, liver disease, epilepsy, prostate enlargement, difficulty passing urine, heart failure, high blood pressure or an adrenal tumour (phaeochromocytoma). Avoid cyclizine if you have porphyria.
• Tell the pharmacist about all medicines, especially sleeping or anxiety treatments, antidepressants, strong painkillers, anticholinergic medicines and medicines that can affect hearing.
• Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use in pregnancy or when planning pregnancy. The Brown & Burk leaflet says not to take while breastfeeding. Contains lactose; check first if you have a sugar intolerance.

Possible side effects and storage

Side effects can include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision and constipation. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how you are affected. Stop taking it and seek urgent help for facial or throat swelling or breathing difficulty. Seek immediate medical advice after an overdose. Keep out of children’s sight and reach, follow the pack’s storage directions and do not use after expiry.
