Start with the right health question

Choose a test for a clear reason

A private blood test may help you explore a specific health question or review markers with your clinician. We offer general health profiles and targeted tests for areas such as thyroid function, iron, vitamins and blood-sugar monitoring.

Contact us if you are unsure which panel to choose. For children, pregnancy-related testing or monitoring an existing condition, please discuss the appropriate route before purchasing.

Your symptoms still matter

Blood results need to be understood alongside your symptoms, medicines and medical history. A panel does not check for every condition or replace an examination, diagnosis or ongoing GP care.

If you feel acutely unwell, seek medical assessment rather than waiting for a routine test. Use NHS 111 for urgent advice or call 999 in a life-threatening emergency.

Blood tests and in-store prices

These are prices for in-store testing. Some product pages also offer a differently priced home kit. Check the selected option and confirm what the total price includes before paying.

Results support and additional fees

Ask which results support is included with your chosen test. A separate health-test follow-up consultation is listed at £50. Further consultations, repeat tests or treatment may have separate costs.

How your blood test works

1

Confirm the test and time

Call 020 8106 7084. We will confirm the panel, sample route, preparation, cost and available appointment. Online payment alone does not reserve a time.

2

Attend for sample collection

Bring your booking details and a list of medicines and supplements. For the in-store panels shown, a trained professional takes a blood sample for laboratory analysis.

3

Receive and discuss results

Confirm how your report will be delivered. Many listed panels estimate 3–5 working days from laboratory receipt; timings vary and may be longer. Discuss follow-up with a clinician.

Preparation, sampling and results

Before your appointment

Preparation depends on the test. Only fast if you are told to, and ask about any timing requirements. Do not stop prescribed medicines on your own; check with the clinician who manages them. Tell us about needle anxiety or previous fainting so the team can support you.

Laboratory testing and aftercare

Samples are analysed through our partner London Medical Laboratory. LML lists UKAS medical laboratory accreditation no. 21423; the accredited scope is test-specific.

You may feel a brief scratch and have some bruising after a blood draw. Follow the collection team’s aftercare advice. Results outside the reference range may need further assessment; a result within range does not explain every symptom.

Your questions, answered

Do I need a GP referral?

A GP referral is not normally required for these private tests. The team still needs to check the appropriate panel and sample route. If you already have symptoms or a care plan, involve your GP or treating clinician.

Does paying online confirm my appointment?

No. Call Holborn to confirm the collection time and preparation. Where a test allows online prepayment, choose the correct in-store option and follow the current instructions on that page.

Can I use a home kit instead?

Selected tests have self-collection options with their own price, sample requirements and return instructions. A home kit is not a home visit and does not include an in-store collection appointment. Check the individual test page.

Which tests are right for fatigue or weight changes?

These symptoms can have many causes. Speak to a clinician before selecting a panel so that any examination or other investigations are considered. Buying a broader panel does not guarantee an answer.

Are blood tests required for weight-loss treatment?

The need for monitoring is decided with your prescribing clinician. Our weight-management blood profile is a separate paid test; it does not prescribe or supply medicine or replace a treatment review.

Can I book at Beeston instead?

Selected blood tests are available by arrangement at Beeston. Call 0115 925 5584 to confirm the exact panel and collection arrangements, or read the Nottingham blood-test page.
