How to use
- Read the instructions printed on the box before use.
- Clean the wound and let the surrounding skin dry completely.
- Open the sterile pouch and peel off the backing, without touching the pad.
- Centre the pad over the wound and apply the film without stretching it.
- Remove the paper frame and smooth the film edges down onto the skin.
- To remove, lift one edge and stretch the film slowly along the skin, low and slow, rather than pulling it up.
Frequently asked questions
Can I shower with this dressing on?
Yes. The film is waterproof once it is sealed to clean, dry skin, so you can shower with it in place.
How big is the absorbent pad?
The dressing is 5cm x 7cm overall and the non-adherent pad in the middle is 2.5cm x 4cm.
How many dressings are in a box?
Each box holds 50 individually packed sterile dressings.
How often should it be changed?
Change it when it is wet through, leaking or lifting at the edges, or as your nurse or doctor advises.
Why does my box say Solventum instead of 3M?
3M's healthcare business became Solventum, so newer boxes carry the Solventum name with the same Tegaderm +Pad 3582 product.
Safety and storage
- For single use only. Do not use if the sterile pouch is damaged or open.
- Seek medical advice if a wound shows signs of infection, such as increasing redness, swelling, heat or pus.
- Store in a cool, dry place.
- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
This is a medical device for wound care. Follow the instructions on the pack and ask a nurse, doctor or pharmacist about wounds that are deep, infected or slow to heal.
