Frequently asked questions

What is Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream used for?

It is used for nappy rash and for other skin conditions that benefit from a soothing, protective antiseptic cream, including sore or inflamed skin. It forms a water-repellent barrier and helps soothe irritation while leaving the skin feeling soft.

Can I use Sudocrem on nappy rash?

Yes. The water-repellent base forms a protective barrier that helps stop irritants such as urine and stools coming into contact with the skin, while the emollient effect soothes sore, inflamed skin. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin at nappy changes.

How does Sudocrem work?

It combines several actions: zinc oxide is an astringent that reduces loss of tissue fluid, hypoallergenic lanolin provides emollient properties, and benzyl alcohol acts as a weak local anaesthetic and antibacterial agent. Together these soothe, protect and help guard against common bacterial contaminants.

Can adults use Sudocrem?

Yes. It is suitable for adults and children and can be used on minor skin conditions that need a soothing, protective antiseptic cream. Online purchase is restricted to those aged 16 and over.

Are there any side effects?

Occasionally localised irritation may occur. If this happens, stop using the cream and seek medical help. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
