How to use

Wash and thoroughly dry the affected area before applying, including between the toes.
Apply a thin layer of cream twice daily, in the morning and evening, for skin infections.
For nail infections, apply once or twice daily as directed.
Keep treating for at least 7 days after symptoms clear (about 10 days for nails) to prevent the infection returning.
For external use only. Wash your hands after applying unless your hands are being treated.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Daktarin Aktiv Cream take to work?

Itching and redness usually start to ease within the first week, but the infection needs longer to clear fully. Keep applying the cream for at least 7 days after symptoms have gone (around 10 days for nail infections) so the fungus does not return.

Can I use Daktarin Aktiv Cream on my face?

Use it only on fungal skin infections and avoid the eyes and mouth. If you think you have a fungal rash on your face, ask your pharmacist for advice first, as facial rashes have many causes.

Can I use it on my nails?

Yes. For fungal nail infections, apply once or twice daily and continue for around 10 days after the nail looks normal. Nail infections can be slow to clear, so ask your pharmacist if there is no improvement.

Can I use Daktarin Aktiv Cream in pregnancy?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your pharmacist or doctor before using it. Miconazole skin cream is widely used, but it is best to check that it is right for you.

Can children use it?

Daktarin Aktiv Cream can be used by children, although online purchase may be limited to those aged 16 and over. Under-16s can be supplied in store under pharmacist supervision.

Safety and storage

For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth.
Stop and ask your pharmacist or doctor if the skin becomes more irritated, or if the rash is weeping, spreading or not improving.
Keep using the cream after symptoms clear, as stopping too early lets the infection return.
Store as directed on the pack, away from direct heat, and keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use after the expiry date printed on the tube and carton.
