GlucoGel (formerly known as Hypostop) is a fast-acting 40% dextrose gel for the dietary management of hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) in people with diabetes. Each 25g tube provides approximately 10g of glucose in an easy-to-swallow gel, and the compact tubes are easy to carry so help is always to hand. Available from our GPhC-registered pharmacy in London.
Key Benefits
- Fast-acting — 40% dextrose gel
- Approx. 10g glucose per tube — a measured dose of fast-acting carbohydrate
- Easy to carry, use and swallow — ideal for bags, pockets and school kits
- Triple pack — 3 x 25g tubes
- Trusted since 1984 — formerly known as Hypostop
How to Use
At the first signs of a hypo, twist off the cap and squeeze the gel into the mouth between the cheek and gum, then swallow. Recheck blood glucose after 10–15 minutes and repeat if needed. Once recovered, eat a longer-acting carbohydrate snack or meal. Always follow the hypo treatment plan agreed with your diabetes team.
