4. The single dose is administered into the upper arm, followed by a short observation period.

How many doses do I need?

This 4-in-1 vaccine is given as a single booster injection for adults and children aged 10 and over. If you have never completed a primary course, the pharmacist will advise whether additional doses are needed.

Can I have it during pregnancy?

Yes. The vaccine is commonly given in pregnancy to help protect newborn babies from whooping cough in their first weeks of life. The pharmacist will confirm the appropriate timing for your pregnancy.

Where do I get vaccinated?

What are the common side effects?

Very common effects include headache, fatigue, redness or swelling at the injection site, joint pain, fever or chills and nausea. Less common effects include rash, muscle pain and itching around the site. These are generally mild and resolve quickly.

Is this an NHS service?

No. This is a private vaccination service. The NHS also offers whooping cough vaccination, including in pregnancy; please consult your GP regarding NHS eligibility if you prefer that route.
