Frequently asked questions

What does vitamin D do?

Under the EU/UK Register of Health Claims, vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, to normal muscle function, to the normal function of the immune system, and to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus. Each D-Pearl provides 4000IU (100µg).

Who should take a 4000IU dose?

4000IU is a high-strength dose suited to adults with increased vitamin D requirements, such as those with limited sun exposure, darker skin tones, or older adults. 4000IU is the daily upper level for adults set by UK guidance, so confirm with a healthcare professional that this dose is right for you.

When is the best time to take vitamin D?

Vitamin D is fat-soluble and is absorbed best when taken with a meal containing some dietary fat. Many people take it with breakfast or lunch. Consistency day to day matters more than the exact time.

Is it suitable for vegans or vegetarians?

No. The D-Pearls capsule shell contains gelatin, which is derived from animal sources, so the product is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians.
