Frequently asked questions
How many Panadol Extra Advance can I take a day?
Adults and children aged 16 and over can take 2 tablets every 4 hours, up to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours. Children aged 12 to 15 take 1 tablet every 4 hours, up to 4 tablets in 24 hours. Do not take a dose more often than every 4 hours.
Can I take Panadol Extra with other paracetamol?
No. Each tablet already contains 500mg of paracetamol, so you must not take it with any other paracetamol-containing product. Taking more than one paracetamol product at once risks a serious overdose.
Why does Panadol Extra contain caffeine?
The caffeine is added to enhance the pain-relieving effect of paracetamol. Because of the caffeine, avoid taking it close to bedtime and limit other caffeine drinks, as too much can cause restlessness, shaking or an uncomfortable feeling in the chest.
Can I take Panadol Extra with ibuprofen?
Yes. The paracetamol and caffeine in Panadol Extra can be taken alongside ibuprofen, as they work in different ways, provided you stay within the maximum daily dose of each. Avoid other products that also contain paracetamol or caffeine.
