DrOnline provides and manages the GP consultation. Ways Pharmacy provides this separate language support service to help you communicate with your doctor. The interpreter does not provide medical advice or make clinical decisions.

What the service includes

Live Mandarin interpretation: support with describing your symptoms, understanding your doctor's questions and discussing the advice given during the consultation.
Respect for your privacy: your information is handled in line with our privacy policy.
Help with the next steps: if your doctor issues a prescription and you choose Ways Pharmacy for dispensing, our pharmacy team can explain the medication and delivery arrangements. Dispensing is subject to a valid prescription, pharmacy checks and medicine availability.

How it works

Confirm with DrOnline before booking: contact DrOnline's administration team and tell them you need Mandarin interpretation.
Confirm interpreter availability: contact Ways Pharmacy at least 24 hours before your proposed consultation to confirm that an interpreter can join and agree the time and call arrangements.
Purchase interpretation: once the arrangements are confirmed, purchase the 15-minute service on this page.
Send your appointment details: send our customer service team your order number and consultation date and time.
Join the consultation: share the consultation link with the interpreter as agreed. The interpreter joins the same video call to provide live Mandarin language support.

If additional interpretation time is needed, discuss the arrangements and any additional fee with our customer service team. Please contact the team in advance if you expect to need more than 15 minutes.

Will the interpreter provide medical advice?

No. The interpreter helps you communicate with your doctor. Your DrOnline doctor makes the diagnosis and any treatment or prescribing decisions.

How do I obtain medication after the consultation?

If your doctor issues a prescription and you choose Ways Pharmacy for dispensing, contact our team to confirm receipt of a valid prescription, pharmacy checks, medicine availability, payment and your delivery address. If postal delivery is appropriate and arranged, our team can confirm the Royal Mail service, any delivery charge and the expected timescale.
