Frequently asked questions
How many Nurofen Express capsules can I take a day?
Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over can take 1 or 2 capsules up to 3 times a day, leaving at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 6 capsules (1200mg of ibuprofen) in 24 hours.
Why are these called fast acting?
The ibuprofen is in a solubilised liquid form inside the capsule, which the body can absorb quickly. This can mean faster pain relief than a standard ibuprofen tablet, though the total dose and daily limit are the same.
Can I take Nurofen Express with paracetamol?
Yes. Ibuprofen and paracetamol can be taken together or alternated, as they work in different ways, provided you stay within the maximum daily dose of each. Do not take any other ibuprofen or NSAID product at the same time.
Is Nurofen Express safe in pregnancy?
It must not be used in the last three months of pregnancy and is generally avoided earlier in pregnancy unless a doctor advises it. If you are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding, ask your pharmacist for a suitable alternative such as paracetamol.
