Who it is for
- Adults and children aged 12 and over with a flare of eczema or dermatitis that a mild steroid has not settled
- People with an inflamed reaction to an insect bite or sting
- People who need a short course of a moderate steroid rather than ongoing treatment
Not suitable for: children under 12 without medical advice; broken skin, acne, rosacea or untreated skin infections; and long-term continuous use, which risks skin thinning. Avoid the eyes, mouth and mucous membranes, and avoid the face unless your doctor directs. Ask your pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

- Do not cover with airtight dressings unless a doctor tells you to.

Frequently asked questions
How long does Eumovate take to work?
Redness and itching often start to ease within a couple of days. Use Eumovate for no more than 7 days without medical advice; if your skin has not improved within that time, stop and see your pharmacist or doctor.
Can I use Eumovate on my face?
Avoid the face unless your doctor has specifically told you to use it there. The skin on the face is thin and more prone to steroid side effects, so a milder treatment is usually preferred.
Can children use Eumovate?
It can be used by children aged 12 and over. It is not suitable for children under 12 without medical advice.
Can I use Eumovate in pregnancy?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your pharmacist or doctor before using it. They can confirm whether a moderate steroid is appropriate for you.
Can I use it for a long time?
No. Eumovate is for short courses only. Prolonged or repeated use can thin the skin and cause other steroid side effects, so do not use it for more than 7 days without medical advice.
