Who it is for
- Adults and older children who use a metered-dose inhaler and find it hard to time pressing and breathing in.
- Anyone advised by a doctor, nurse or pharmacist to use their inhaler with a spacer.
Not suitable for: Not suitable on its own for babies and young children who cannot seal their lips around a mouthpiece; they need a spacer with a mask.
How to use
- Remove the inhaler cap and shake the inhaler.
- Fit the inhaler upright into the back of the spacer.
- Seal your lips around the mouthpiece.
- Press the inhaler once, then breathe in and out slowly and deeply about 4 to 6 times. If the whistle sounds, breathe more slowly.
- For another puff, wait 5 to 10 breaths and shake the inhaler again before repeating.
- Remove the inhaler, replace its cap and rinse your mouth if your medicine requires it.
Frequently asked questions
Will it fit my inhaler?
It is designed to fit most metered-dose (aerosol) inhalers. It is not for dry powder inhalers.
What does the whistle mean?
It sounds when you breathe in too fast, so slow down your breathing.
How often should I replace it?
After 12 months of use, or sooner if it becomes cloudy, scratched or cracked.
Does it come with a mask?
No. This version has a mouthpiece only. Versions with infant, child and adult masks are sold separately.
Why should I not wipe it dry?
Wiping can reduce the anti-static effect; let the parts air dry instead.
Safety and storage
- Use only with inhaled medicines prescribed or recommended for you, and follow your doctor's, nurse's or pharmacist's instructions.

- Keep out of the reach and sight of children when not in use.
