Who it is for
- Adults and children aged 12 and over with heartburn, acid regurgitation or indigestion.
- Anyone who wants a measured dose to carry – the sachets need no measuring.
- Pregnant women with heartburn: the SmPC states it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Not suitable for: Do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, including the preservatives methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218, E216). Children under 12 should only take it on medical advice. Each 10ml sachet contains about 128mg of sodium (a two-sachet dose about 256mg), so speak to a pharmacist or doctor first if you are on a low-salt diet or have kidney problems. It also contains calcium (about 260mg per two-sachet dose), so take care if you have high blood calcium or a history of kidney stones.
How to use

- Knead the sachet before opening, tear it and swallow the contents.
- Leave about 2 hours between Gaviscon Double Action and other medicines, as antacids can affect how some medicines are absorbed.
- If symptoms persist, or you need it for more than 7 days continuously, see a doctor.
