Who it is for
- Adults and people aged 16 and over with everyday pain such as headache, toothache or period pain
- People who prefer a soluble tablet dissolved in water rather than swallowing a tablet whole
- People with a fever or the aches of a cold or flu
Not suitable for: children and teenagers under 16, because of the rare risk of Reye's syndrome; anyone allergic to aspirin or other NSAIDs; anyone with a current or past stomach ulcer or bleeding problem; and anyone in the last three months of pregnancy. Speak to your pharmacist or doctor first if you have asthma, high blood pressure, kidney or liver problems, gout, or take blood-thinning medicines. This is the 300mg pain-relief dose, which is different from the separate 75mg low-dose aspirin used for the heart.
How to use
- Read the patient information leaflet inside the pack before you start.
- Adults and children aged 16 and over: dissolve 1 to 3 tablets in a glass of water and drink.
- Repeat every 4 to 6 hours if needed, leaving at least 4 hours between doses.
- Do not take more than the maximum daily dose stated in the leaflet (up to 4g of aspirin in 24 hours).
- Take with or after food to reduce stomach irritation. If symptoms last more than 3 days or get worse, speak to your pharmacist or doctor.
Frequently asked questions
Can children take aspirin 300mg?
No. Aspirin must not be given to anyone under 16 unless a doctor prescribes it, because of a rare but serious condition called Reye's syndrome. For children, use paracetamol or ibuprofen instead.
Is this the same as the 75mg heart aspirin?
No. This is the 300mg analgesic dose used for everyday pain and fever. Low-dose 75mg aspirin is a separate product used to help prevent blood clots in people advised by their doctor. Do not swap one for the other.
Should I take aspirin with food?
Yes, take it with or after food. Aspirin can irritate the stomach, and taking it with food reduces the chance of stomach upset or, more rarely, bleeding.
Can I take aspirin with ibuprofen or paracetamol?
Aspirin can be taken with paracetamol, but it should not be taken with ibuprofen or other NSAIDs because that increases the risk of stomach irritation and bleeding. If you are unsure, ask your pharmacist.
Safety & storage

- Avoid in the last three months of pregnancy. Ask your pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Do not take with other NSAIDs or with blood-thinning medicines unless your doctor has advised it.
- Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place, and keep out of the sight and reach of children.
