Who it is for
- Adults and children aged 12 and over who need short-term relief of mild to moderate pain or fever.
- People who prefer a liquid capsule to a standard tablet.
Not suitable for: Children under 12; anyone allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin or other NSAIDs (including asthma, rhinitis, swelling or hives after taking them); anyone with an active stomach ulcer or bleeding, or who has had two or more episodes; anyone who has had a stomach bleed or perforation linked to an NSAID; severe heart, kidney or liver failure; the last 3 months of pregnancy. Speak to a pharmacist or doctor first if you have asthma, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart, liver, kidney or bowel problems, have had a stroke, are dehydrated, smoke, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take other NSAIDs or aspirin above 75mg a day.
How to use
- Read the label and Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) before use.
- Swallow 1 capsule whole with water. Do not chew.
- If needed, take another capsule after at least 4 hours, up to three times a day.
- Do not take more than 3 capsules in any 24 hours.
- Adults: see a doctor if you need it for more than 10 days or symptoms worsen. Children and adolescents aged 12 to 18: see a doctor if needed for more than 3 days.

How many Nurofen Express 400mg capsules can I take a day?
One capsule up to three times a day, leaving at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 3 capsules in any 24 hours.
Can children take Nurofen Express 400mg?
It is for adults and children aged 12 and over. Do not give it to children under 12. For 12 to 18 year olds, see a doctor if it is needed for more than 3 days.
Can I take it with paracetamol?
Ibuprofen and paracetamol work differently and are often taken together for short periods, but do not combine it with aspirin (above 75mg a day) or other NSAIDs. If in doubt, ask our pharmacist.
Can I take it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Do not take it in the last 3 months of pregnancy. Earlier in pregnancy and while breastfeeding, speak to a pharmacist or doctor first.
Should I take it with food?
It can be taken with or after food, which may help if you have a sensitive stomach. Follow the PIL.
Safety and storage
- For short-term use only. Do not exceed the stated dose.
- Contains sorbitol and the colour Ponceau 4R (E124), which may cause allergic reactions. See the PIL for the full list of ingredients.
- Store below 25°C. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
