Cetraxal Plus® is a prescription-only combination ear drop that provides dual-action relief for acute bacterial infections of the outer ear (otitis externa). It contains ciprofloxacin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic that targets the bacteria causing infection, and fluocinolone acetonide, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, swelling, and pain.

This combination treatment is ideal for patients with inflamed, painful ear infections where both infection control and symptom relief are needed.

• Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride 3mg/ml (antibiotic)
• Fluocinolone Acetonide 0.25mg/ml (anti-inflammatory corticosteroid)

Who Is It For?

Suitable for adults and children over 1 year of age who have:

• Acute otitis externa (outer ear infections)
• Bacterial ear infections with associated inflammation or swelling

Not suitable if you:

• Have a perforated eardrum (unless specifically advised by a doctor)
• Are allergic to ciprofloxacin, fluocinolone, or any other quinolone antibiotics or corticosteroids
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding (seek medical advice first)
• Have viral, fungal, or tuberculosis-related ear infections

Directions for Use:

Dosage: Usually 4–6 drops into the affected ear twice daily for 7 days or as prescribed

Application:

• Warm the bottle slightly by holding it in your hands
• Tilt your head or lie on your side with the affected ear facing upward
• Administer the prescribed number of drops
• Stay in position for 5 minutes to allow the medication to penetrate
• Repeat in the other ear if required

Do not insert cotton buds or objects into the ear canal.

Important Warnings & Precautions:

• For aural (ear) use only – do not use in the eyes, nose, or on broken skin
• Do not exceed the prescribed dose or treatment duration
• Do not use longer than 7 days unless directed by a healthcare professional
• Avoid getting water into the treated ear during the course of treatment
• Store below 25°C and discard 28 days after opening
• Keep out of sight and reach of children

Possible Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Temporary discomfort or irritation in the ear
• Itching, burning, or mild redness
• Bitter taste in the mouth (if medication drains to the throat)
• Headache or mild dizziness

Rare but serious side effects include allergic reactions, ear swelling, or worsening of symptoms. If any of these occur, stop treatment and seek immediate medical help.
